I have read a previous thread called "Removing 2.3l air intake silencer"
I have recently done this and it helped the cold air intake out alot. But I can now smell gas and the check engine light comes on instantly. I think it's running to rich and it also chokes out in the beginning. Reminds me of the way a carb'd engine sounds when it'll only start and stay started when you spray carb cleaner in the carb. If anyone ever had to do that. Lol. Anyways. Should I unplug the battery to reset the computer or is that a lie? Please help.
I just removed the Air Silencer off my 90 mustang 2.3l, I notice it runs A LOT better. Havent had that issue tho...sorry if this post is kinda useless but I thought I might as well tell you that after removing the silencer from my car nothings wrong. Good luck with fixing it
i did mine last night. and it was a noticeable help. I also replaced my fuel filter and it felt like she was alive again. and i was able to leave a decent amount of rubber on the pavement that any 4cyl would be proud to claim. lol.

i've been thinking about trying to fab a CAI on my 92 2.3l but i've been holding back on it because i've heard mixed results about it with regards to the MAF. i want to try to do it in a way where i can easily convert it back if it doesn't run well.
