Default Clogged Cat? Maybe?

I was wondering if someone would mind helping me with a couple questions. my car seems really sluggish from about 2,500 rpms on, could it be a clogged cat? If so will it harm the car at all if i just cut them out completely? we dont have to worry about emmisions here in idaho, so i could get away with it. Thanks for you time.

If it clogs completely you will damage or blow your motor.

Default clogged cat

is there a sure fire way to tell if your cat is clogged though?

i don't think it's your cat. if it's only after 2500 rpm i would think it's something in your EGR system or the o2 sensor. you can test the cat by hitting it with a rubber mallet to see if there is a bunch of stuff getting knocked around in it is what i've been told, but whenever i've taken a car to get the cat tested at a shop, they always measure the temp of it at the front of the cat and the back of it, but i'm not sure what temp it should be at.

If it's hotter in the front, then it is in the back two different readings tells you it's clogged, Mike. SCT Tuner
