Default 86 mustang lx turbo. What should i do with the hood?

hey. im new to the forum... i have an 86 lx 2.3l mustang with turbo(from a thuindirbird). i am just wondering what i should do with the stock hood. has anyone mounted a hood scoop on their stock hood(to feed the intercooler)? im just trying to get some ideas of what will look good and work. if someone could post some pictures of what they did, that would be great. thanks

also, does anyone know if the 86 mustang lx 2.3l's comes stock with a limited slip rear end?

Cool

You don't need direct air feed to the I/C just as long as some air is inducted into the engine compartment. This is what I'm running on my '89. Found one used for $200.

SVO fiberglass hood

If you don't want to spend the money on a hood try relocating your I/C to in front of your radiator. A much better place for it! Mounting the I/C on top of a hot engine with limited space was a horrible design flaw that Ford made!

also IMO you should keep your stock hood so noooobody knows what you got goin on in there. and yes a FMIC would be a good idea. greater power and reliability.

imo, cut a hole in the hood, or mount the tmic up front, the turbo "heat soaks" the intercooler, loosing the effectiveness of the intercooler, heating the charge air. so closing the hood over the intercooler would probabally melt the paint off the hood.

no they don't but alot of the 5.0 lx and turbocoupe t-birds came with a 7.5 trac loc, so swaping gears is simple.
