Default 1988 signal lights dont work

My cars signal lights dont work when the car on. they only work when i turn the key to the point when you are about to turn it on. any help. i'll try to be more specific

What do you mean by "on?" Do they flash or are they constantly on when they do come on?

The ignition switch is worn out. Not the lock cylinder where you put the key, but the actual switch further down on the steering column. I'll bet your A/C blower is doing the same thing as your turn signals.

^^^^^what he said, you'll need a "tamper proof" torx bit to remove the switch, there also called "security screws" it's a torx bit with a hole in the centre.
