I'm back! Ok, I checked out the alternator, and it is reading 14.6 volts. According to another member on this forum, when an alternator is working properly, it's output is at least 14.00 volts. So it's ok. But the battery is still draining. I pulled out all the fuses that I thought weren't "vital" to the basic opperation of the Mustang, and it's still drained. Should I pull out the fuses for the headlights, wipers, and other "semi-vital" fuses? An ideas or suggestions will help. Thanks.
Check for loose grounds. Ensure if there is any rust to clean them up thoroughly, where you can see metal, then retighten. I've had a car that had the same symptoms that was due to bad groundings.

Trouble filling the void with enough speed or power? - take GOD for a test drive
Im having the same problem. Im betting its a ground problem. My battery was borderline so I went and got a new one. Then I smoked a few wires from the cininod to the starter cranking the car over after it hadn't been started in a few months.
I had the same problem in my 88GT and went crazy..finally it was the electric fuel pump relay under the drivers seat and costs about 18 bucks to replace!! Hope it helps.
Thanks guys! This helps a whole lot. No, I don't have subs, and the battery is only about a year old, so I don't think that would be the problem. However, who knows? I will go out and check the grounds this afternoon, and I'll let you know the results. Hope those of you that have the problem currently find out what is causing it.
If the ground checking doesn't fix the trouble, put a digital multimeter (in ampmeter mode)in series with your battery cable and read the current flow. Then pull fuses one at a time until you find the circuit in trouble.
Just because you alternator is charging at 14v doesnt mean that its not bad it can still be causing a drain, if you think that may be the problem if you are going to leave it overnight then unhook the power wire to the alternator, then in the morning go see if it will start if the battery isnt dead you will know where your problem is.
