Can a T5 from a 5.0 work in a 2.3 ? I've been reading thru posts and I can't seem to find a definitive answer. But I think the answer is a "YES, but...". The "but" part is hard to find input on. Here is what I have found so far.
1. I have to get the correct pilot bearing for the input shaft. This is a pilot bearing from a 2.3l ranger, right? Is there a special place I need to buy this from?
2. The gear ratio is not the same. Will the car seem more sluggish at the 5.0 t5 gear in? I'm not sure what the affect will be. Its gotta be better than the auto, right?
3. Clutch will wear abnormally fast with gear ratio, is another symptom. My NA 2.3 is not going to win any stop light to stop light battles or see any clutch side-steps, or power shifting.
4. Another thing is that I am eventually putting a 5.0 in it, so I'd rather not do it twice.
5. Got an ailing automatic in it and I have got to do something about it.
Any info is a help, Thanks in advance.
