If your t-5 is from a v8 car the input shaft is 0.059" shorter and a little thicker. The gear ratio is also different. The 1st gear in the v8
trans is allot taller so your 2.3 will dog bad of the line. The over drive gear is also allot taller. The only gear that is the same is 4th.I am running a 1989 2.3 t-5 in my 5.0 and it was a huge pain to make it work.I had to use a pilot bearing from an 83 diesel ranger to get the input shaft to fit up.But to put a v8 t-5 behind a 2.3 I don't think will work.Just my opinion.
