Default turbo build or swap in my 81?

This is something that I've been thinking about lately. I would like to have a turbo car but with out all the flash of cruising in an SVO or T-Coupe. So my question is, what's the more economical choice here?
Should I:

A: Attempt to find a totaled out turbo car and do the complete swap. Which I think would be a fairly tricky task.

OR

B. Attempt to build it up my self? I know very little about a turbo set up and how much it would cost. I have an idea of all what would go into it, just not what's involved in it.

Any input would be appreciated.

Kinda off topic but there is a guy around my neighborhood that has a Fairmont that is quite slow looking but it is all beast under the skin that makes me want to do the same thing you are asking about.......

totaled out would be your best bet it may sound hard but will most likely be easier than you think.
