Yep, '87-'88 TC's have distributors with TFI's, just like your '86.

Yep, that's the one. Grab it, that's a great price! If it goes too high and you don't get it, I've got one for $40 + shipping.

The RAM 88618 is the one I run in my '86 TC. Luv it! Good quality clutch and been running it daily for 2 years with no issue.

sorry two more questions

1. will not having a intercooler have any affect on how the ECU operates?

2. when i bought the car reverse is funky if you stick it in reverse the instent you stop i grinds if you wait half a sec then do it it goes in like it should its like it thinks the car is still moving i was thinking it was the clutch maybe the syncro (i hope not) if it is would my tranny hold up to the TC motor?

you can get an LB series computer and it will have the same performance features. The only difference is it has provisions for an auto trans. I have seen where my friend dyno's his car with the LA and then the LB with only a couple of HP difference which can happen any given day. Dyno for both was done on the same day.

I understand, but most people do not know that an LB series is a perfectly good replacement for the LA series EEC and will skip over buying it for the LA series. I have seen LB3s on eBay go for $20.00....that would leave money left over for you OCD meds.

stick the tranny in 5th stopped then put it in reverse, won't grind as much.
