Looking at get a 89 2.3 auto, what model tanny is in there? & will it work in a 86 5.0l ?

I belive a T-5 borg and Warner but thats not 100% help me out guys

T-5 is a manual, I belive its a A4LD but dont know if that will work on a 5.0l

it is an A4LD. and it will not work with the 5.0. the bolt patterns are different, and even if it would bolt up (there are some adapter plates, not sure if you could get one) the 5.0 would put out more power than the A4LD can handle
