Default Fuel Gauge reads E all the time...

How would I be able to fix it? If it makes any difference when I start my car the needle bounces a little. Its a 1991 Mustang Notchback if that helps.

Change your fuel sending unit. The part with the float on it.

Bring the gas tank down, the sending unit is inside the tank make sure is not just disconnected or the connection is dirty, and Some times the sending unit gets grime, try to clean it and after you clean it test it by connecting it outside of the tank and moving it by hand, make sure the ignition switch is on and remember it doesnt read too fast so leave it in one position for a few seconds preferably in mid position, if you get some reading try it in different positions then you should be ok, if you still get no reading then i guess time to get a new one. I know this because my car was sitting for ten years till i bought it and i wouldnt get any reading either, i did just cleaned it ant it worked fine.
