Default Car now clicks when I try to start it

It clicks from the starter relay/solenoid really loud. I can't get it to turn over, all it does is click. You can feel it on the starter relay. It won't even start with jumper cables or if I try to start it with a screw driver from the relay/solenoid. Nothing! All I did was try to change the DIS module but it didn't work so I switched it back. The people at the parts store gave me dielectric grease (clear) to put on it. That's what I put on first. Then I read online it's Heat sink grease (white) you use. I got some from Radio Shack and put that on with the old DIS module and now this. Loud clicks from the starter relay/solenoid.

Check the wire on your starter it may be a loose connection that has happened to me

But it started when I switched the Ignition Control Module out and used dielectric grease instead of Heat Sink Grease. So I switched it back to the old one with the Heat Sink. Now it clicks loud at the solenoid not the starter. I'm hoping it's just the starter solenoid and fuel pump that's making it not run.

If it won't crank over, the fuel pump and ignition module have nothing to do with it. You've probably got a loose connection between the starter and the solenoid or a bad ground. You've done something while you were playing with the DIS module. Go back and check around the area you were working in and not just the module. You're a victim of yourself here, you just need to find what you did.

If it cranked and wouldn't start, then we could talk about the fuel pump and ignition module.

I changed the DIS module with dielectric grease to see if that's why it wouldn't start . It wouldn't turn over so I put the old module back on with the Heat Sink Grease and nothing but clicking from the starter solenoid. So i'm thinking it's the starter solenoid is why it won't turn over now from the loud clicking noise and the fact that I tried to start it from the solenoid with a screwdriver and nothing but the same clicking. I think it wouldn't run because I fried it when I did a 2 hr trip at 80 mph, down shifting and gassing it to pass cars faster with 17 lb injectors with a 4cyl fuel pump.

So i'm thinking Starter solenoid and 5.0 fuel pump I have from the junk yard from before. The 17 lb injectors are back in. The battery is strong, I don't turn it over long enough to let the battery drain, but I guess I can have it checked and charged. And I haven't been by the starter wires for any reason throughout this whole process.

its not 100% bad no. but i would run that back to the battery because the battery acts as a capicitor (sorry about the spelling) and it will keep excess noise out. and you might also get better power from the battery.

The same thing was happening on my dad's truck (1992 f-150). Occasionally, the solenoid would make a loud clicking noise and nothing would happen. This became more frequent with time and eventually the vehicle wouldn't be able to start at all. I turned out that the solenoid had gone bad, so I am guessing that is what you've got going on there. Good luck

Well, my mechanic says if I can't start it from jumping it from the solenoid then it's the starter.

I'll do 1, 2, 3 and 6. Thank you. You really used oil or wd40 on an ignition module? Did it still run? Lol.

I would to if it started by jumping the solenoid. I'll have the starter tested and go from there.
