Default 1993 Mustang fuel pump problem

O.k. Besides the fact that either the starter or the solenoid is no good, Can a 4cyl stock fuel pump stop working if you go from 14lb fuel injectors to 17lb and run it a good 2 hours at WOT? ( It was driven for a couple of months back and forth to work, basically down the street, before the 2 hr trip.)

Should I need a bigger MAF from a 5.0? The injectors came out of a 96' Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1L.

You can burn out the injector drivers in your computer if they are not the same type of injectors. Either high impedance or low impedance peak & hold. The ecm doesn't like it if you mix them up. If your injectors are still batch fired like in the earlier models you will be firing the injector in each cylinder twice for every 4 stroke cycle. That would kill the drivers even quicker.

What?!? Which computer? I can check online and see if the injectors are of the same impedance. I don't think I went as far as killing the injector drives. But I never heard of this. My mechanic said it was ok.

I said this back a while ago.

Put a noid loight on the injectors and see if you have power to them (KOEO). The injector should have power to it all the time, but will fire when the EEC compltes the ground using the driver.

Then crank it over to see if the light pulses.

If it is indeed the EEC being toast, kick your "mechanic" in his backside and have him replace it.
