help!! my ac seems to work and not work at the same time

I have a 87 mustang lx ..and my ac system has been working just fine up until about three weeks ago. here is the problem when i start driving and especially in the freeway as i have my foot on the gas if i have the air on high speed it seems to go to really realy low speed and u can bearly feel the air anymore but as i step of the gas full power on the ac blower comes up again...and also some the cold air just turns into warm air...i stay in texas and we are in the 3 digit temperature zone..im dying out here so any help i would appreciate it

Vacuum check valve. Do a search, and you'll come up with the location. I haven't replaced one on a Mustang, so I don't know where it is.

ok appreciate that alot i think its under the hood im gonna check it out and see what happens. hopefully that fixes the problem
