he asked if a 2.3 was fast.. he never said anything about a power adder.. anything is fast with a turbo
exactly.... If a 2.3 is fast, there you go! I can say that I had a 77' 2.3l pinto that had 140 hp with a 4 speed. It was fast, it was killing the escort gt's.

John is running about 580 hp i think.(kind of a secret he wont tell us) My 2.3 does not run that fast. But its fast enough and its very streetable and gets like 24 MPG My honda is also very fast because its a D16 V tech turbo and its only 2200 LBS. Thats APP 5.5 LBS per HP. A 400HP chivelle at 4000 lbs is 10 lbs per hp. See how it works.

Only one saying about your Honda...... Just like I heard here the other day...... My 2 liter pop is bigger than your motor!

they are pretty slow because ford built them for some reason with upper end power-thats why they are gutless when you take off and seem to pick up a little in the higher rpms-but with a little imagination you can probably do little things to pep it up a bit
2.3l's are slow, but like anything hp =$ you can make any car turn 10's with enough cash and the right people. you want to go fast, pull out your wallet. then remember the faster you go the better your suspension needs to be, then you need to be able to stop the damn thing so your brakes need to be better, then if you go too fast you'll need a rollcage at the track, and so on and so on, i was inquiring about a ford racing boost gauge @ a dealer, $298 canadian!!!! wtf? is it made of gold???? i'm trying to build a daily driver street car that has a little pull on the highway, but on a budget, there's some things (like the gauge) i just can't justify. sorry for the rant there.

Overall +1. Yes, you can make ANY car fast as long as you have deep pockets.

That nasty turbo 4 is well over 580HP to be pulling low 9's. That thing is sick though, crazy power from a four AND he can get it to the ground.
Thats the truth you can actually do the math and calculate the ponies. BO ran a dyno pull on his D port 2.3 and made a WOPPING 598HP without a bottle. In my ahop i have only got a 2.3 to 514 Hp. But it takes bucks. The more bucks the more HP. Like you said THAT CAR iS OUTRAGEOUS AND SICK amen brother.
