I think i fried my ECU. Please give me your input. Hi, I posted a thread a while back about my 1992 for mustang LX that came factory with the 2.3LN/A. I got my hands on a 1985 Mustang SVO engine and dropped it in. I was having the issue that it was starting then dieing inconsistently.
I went back over my work to discover a few wiring problems and some pins that were not in the correct spot.
I went to pull my check engine codes and i believe I used the jumper wire on the wrong terminal. Since then the check engine light went off and till this day is not back on.
I went over my wiring again and again and it is exactly how it is sup post to be. My VAM is testing perfect, my TPS is testing perfect and as I stated the wiring is perfect.
I decided to pull the computer back out to take a look at the board.
On the front of the board everything seems to be in order, no melted solderpoints or anything. but on the back of the board there is a few spots that look black.
Does my story seem like i could have fried the ECU? on the bottom of the board were the pin solders are the silcone over the top of the board was black as can be, but i peeled it away and underneith apears to be ok. the black spot on the upper end is actually on the board. no silicone.
and as i said i have no check engine light anymore. it was on throwing several codes before i jumped it.
it is a LA3 computer.
any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
