Default 1992 Mustang LX power steering problem

My power steering pump is going out so i was in the process of changing it. But for some reason i cannot get the pulley off. After several tries with different pulley removers i have just about given up. The power steering pump sits inside this housing, which the alternator sits on top of, and to take it out of that housing the pulley has to be taken off. Does anyone know what the name of this housing is? And where to find it?

You need this tool:
http://[URL="http:///www.harborfreight.com?cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=40749"
By the way you can save a few bucks if you ask for a 5.0 power steering pump(in my area this saved me $45..... I compared them side by side I could not see anything different between the 2

Funny thing is i used that one. That long screw got stuck in there and i wound up having to use a saw to cut it in half. Thats why im trying to get a new pulley and housing.

Default power steering pump

Ouch dude! The only thing i can think of is to get a metal cutting abrasive disk to cut through the PS pulley to get to the 3 mounting bolts on the alternator/power steering pump bracket. I don't recall if the very center portion (hub) of the pulley will pass through the hole in the bracket or not.Perhaps one the more knowledgeable members can tell us.

rawright05, Is there a parts yard near you? Sounds like the easiest thing to do is get another puller kit;some PB Blaster or the like, and get a pump and pulley from a junker. Wouldn't worry about the particular year as long as its a serpentine belt type, the pulley you definitely are going to need and the pump is for the core return........spray and soak the hub area of the pulley and try again with the removal tool(also have to use it to install the pulley) Once again tell the parts monkeys that you want a 5.0 PS pump, its a good deal cheaper ( Got that tip from this site, ain't it great!!!!)
