Default 2 1/4 inch Thrush Muffler help.... 1993 Mustang 2.3l

I'm going to buy a Thrush muffler or Cherry bomb today. The opening is 2 1/4 inch on each side. My stock pipes are 2 inch. Whats the settup to get this muffler on myself? Adapters, clamps, pipe, etc. Has anyone replaced the muffler with an aftermarket one themselves? What was the easiest and fastest way to do this? Thank you all.

I used an adapter on the front. On the rear I used a 2.25" driverside LX 5.0 dynomax tailpipe.

I used clamps. I got the tailpipe from summitracing.com for like 40 or 50 bucks.

So a $25 glasspack will now cost about $50 trying to get it on with clamps and adapters. Still cheaper than the shop.

You would probly want to run a pipe all the way to the back but if it's only gonna be temporary then it should be fine. I have heard of those guys run the downpipes right under the passenger compartment and they seem to be alive still even though that has to be a terrible idea because if you r just sitting idling the car exhaust is very likely to get into the car.

I took the pipe off after the muffler and smell that old car smell. (Exhaust) Sounds different and has a tiny more get up from a stop. Either that or i'm imagining things.
