Default How To Get More Power Out of your 2.3 n/a

I see this question just about everytime I check the 2.3 threads, Its how to improve performance from your 2.3 n/a without goin forced induction.

-First off remove the air silencer or get a cold air intake.
-Get and K and N air filter.
-Remove your cats or get a high flow cat
-Get a header like exhaust manifold off a 2.3 ranger
-A chambered muffler will add a more aggressive tone and might improve power.
-You can get a larger throttle body but some minor modification may be needed.
-Port and polish the upper and lower intake manifold, port and polish the head and give it a rebuild or buy a rebuilt one off ebay.
-Removing the a/c will shave off some weight but the hp gains would be minimal if any.
-A small shot of nitrous is always possible.
-Some 3.73 rear gears

With these mods your 2.3 should be good to go and keep you busy untill you want to go Turbo or swap.

Pull the head and mill the snot out of it. That will increase the compression. port and polish the head along with bigger valves. Install a good aftermarket header and high flow cat with no muffler. If its auto convert to a 5 speeder. Adjustible fuel preasure reg and install a performance cam and adjustible cam gear. That would give you at least a 60 HP gain +or- a fiew.
