Default more 2.3 maf ideas

what if i bought a maf and housing together for the 5.0 that match the 19lb stock injectors, and put it on my 2.3? think it will still run lean? i know the ecu is pre programmed, but it works on the 5.0 without changing injectors even though the housing is much bigger. i don't want to pay for it, it not work, and i can't get my money back. cash too precious these days.

Dont do that you have to fix the car first.(example) You cant fix a slipping transmission by changing the oil.

19lbs injectors are gonna make her run rich. you could run the 5.0 maf but swap out your sensor into it.

the haynes book says they run 19lb injectors like the 5.0. what am i supposed to fix first? i don't understand. i know if i put a bigger housing on my maf, even if i use the same sensor, it will run lean. i haven't seen any responses tackling the sensor and housing sets. i just want to up the breathing for more throttle response. plan to do exhaust and probably the injectors and pump too if this thing keeps up these check engine lights, but for now i just want it more drivable.

I did the math for you on injector size. Here is the scoope. A 19 lb injector running 43.5 lbs fuel preasure and a bsfc of .5 will support 121.6 HP. If you switch to a 24 lb injector it will support 153.6 HP. Your injectors are maxed out at 19 lbs. Hope This Helps Tom

if the injectors are yellow, there 19lbs. i've swaping out to 19 lbs from the 1987's 12 lbs, and my car smoked black unless it was under wide open throttle, i thought the 91 to 93's had 17 lbs injectors, so the mass air would have to be calibrated to larger injectors, or a rich condition would happen, failing any emission test. so just be prepared for a black rear bumper.

Here is the numbers on a 12 lb injectors on a 4 cylinder engine running 43.5 LB of FP with a bsfc of .5 . The injectors would only support 76.8 HP. With a 17 lb injector it would support 108.8 HP. Hope this helps clear things up. TOM
