Im new to this forum. Hoping for some help. My little brother got his first car today, and has asked me to help him get it running. It is a 1993 2.3 Stang. He was told when he bought it that the timing was off, thus, causing it not to turn over. I have had no luck actually finding a diagram of how to set the timing back to factory. Could ya'll please help me out? he is out of town for the weekend and I want to have it running for him when he gets home. Help me out, please!
Take a screwdriver and put it between the bolt heads on the fan and turn it to the right until the top mark lines up. Then check the bottom mark. If it's off then you'll have to take off the 2 front belts to get to the timing belt. Do that and check it first. I have no cover on mine so I have no idea on how to get the cover off. I was going to video me doing the belt for others to see cause it's such a quick process. It's easier than other cars.
"Turn over" means different things to some people. Just to clarify, you mean the engine doesn't rotate when you turn the key, or the engine cranks, but doesn't start and run?
