Default Intermittent Tach

Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing an intermittent Tach? I have a 93 Mustang Conv. with a 2.3 and auto transmisson. Sometimes when you start up the Tach engages and gives good readings and sometimes it does not, it jsut stays pegged at zero.

Hey Bill; First off, if you stare at your avitar long enough it will make you dizzy. Check to see if you have any corrosion, around your coil because your signal all comes from the coil. If that is clean, then pull your cluster and check to see if you have any breaks in the circuit board. Those would be the only places, that could cause that problem with your tach, Mike. SCT Tuner.

Thanks Mike, I'm guessing the corrision is a good bet. It has been outside for atleast the last 10 years before I bought it.. I'll check that..It runs great so I'm guessingthe coil is still good...
