my motor is making a new noise now. it sounds a lot like a glazed belt squealing from the outside. The noise is coming from the trottle body area. (not the front of the motor) the noise goes away while accelerating, or revving. but as it comes back down, it starts up again. the lower the rpm of the motor the lower pitched the squeal is. could this be a vacuum leak? any suggestions?

It is a belt squeal. I had this on my car when it was cold out, all I had to do to get it to go away was step on the gas a little, lol. If all of your belts are in good shape, make sure they're all tight.

it is not a belt squeal. unless there is a belt on the backside of the motor. i have rebuilt this one, i know it inside and out and i dont remember putting one there

hahaha... yeah I don't think there are any there either, lol. sorry, I have no idea other than to say it could be internal?

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. I saw this on an SVO that a guy was rebuilding. The TB gasket was hosed. I would remove the TB and replace that gasket as well as the IAC gasket. Cheap fix.
