Default 1993 dis overheating dont no wut to check next

ok here is the scenerio. my brother has a 93 2.3l, it overheats all time we changed the rad, the water pump,the hoses look good, the thermostat looked good. when it over heats the rad is cool to the touch and the hoses and block are screamin hot. after the car starts to get warm it ticks and bangs and has a hard time running.

please help im gettin sick of running him to work at 5 in the morning

did you test the stat? just cuz it looks good doesn't mean it works.

replace the t stat it's your problem. You might also pull the water pump and make sure the blades are not rusted away

Get that stuck STAT out of that engine ASAP. You made the classic mistake never assume a stat is good without testing it out of the engine

thanx guys i did check it and put a new 1 in but it must have been faulty cause i checked the new one and it didnt open. got another new one and it worked . thanx alot now the car just wants to die and when it does it doesnt start to easy allmost like it floodes itself out any suggestions on the cause

Try a crank sensor just a guess???? They have a nasty habit of becoming intermittent.

I wonder if you did some damage by over heating it a couple of times. If it got hot enough to tick and bang, I'd be doing a compression test to make sure it didn't eat a head gasket...or worse.

What does the oil and coolant look like?

the oil and coolant look good .there is no mixing into each other so i was thinkin a piston blow by
