Unhappy 1992 2.3 mustang. Sounds like it's running on 3 Cylinders

I have a 1992 Ford Mustand 2.3 Liter. It is non turbo. I have been having a problem with this car. The motor sounds and feels like it only runs on 3 cylinders. This only occurs when I start the car up. What my fix has been is I rev the car up and it pops and a puff of black smoke comes out of the exhaust and the car then runs fine. My question is what could the problem be or what most likely is it? I have changed the fuel filter and I have also added Lucas injector cleaner as well as ran 1 tank of 92 octane vpower through the tank.

OK FIRST CHECK THESE SYSTEMS

1 fuel preasure and volume
2 when the engine is missing isolate the cylinder
3 once the cylinder is isolated work on that first
4 sounds like ignition.
5 could also be a leaky injector (black smoke)

Another way to find a leaky injector would be to pull the plugs out of the exhaust side of the head. Examine the electrode end of the plugs. Black or black and wet is bad. Chocolate brown isn't great, Tan is about perfect.

Ok I tell you what I done today. I was on my way to change the fuel pump when my normal mechanic decieded to call and said he would change the plugs and wires. Well I left the fuel pump alone and changed the plugs and wires. Well so far so good. I will know if it has fixed the problem tomorrow. Thanks for all your help guys. Be sure to check back and see if I am still having the problems.
