Default Can't figure out why car is running rough

So. my 1986 tbird turbo coupe. I have replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor and coil pack. valve cover gasket all gaskets on intake except for lower manifold, fuel injector o rings, cleaned TB and some other minor things(fuel filter, gas and seafoam). basically its still near impossible to start. it idles so bad now that i have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it above 1500 rpms or it will die. i've ran codes and i got a frigging passing 11. im really stumped as to why this car is running so rough. its not possible to drive b/c it idles so bad. im getting my repair manual tom. hopefully that may help. Please im very desperate for help.
Thank you,
Kevin

Sounds like your IAC valve is either bad or dirty

The only thing that you didn't mention that showed up as a fix for the troubleshoot (misses at idle) in my haynes manual is that you may have a vacuum line not hooked up or it could be cracked line. hmmmmm? It's very interesting that it is giving you a code 11... It makes you wonder if the computer is even doing anything? Maybeeeeeee, it might be the computer?

Good luck,

Steve

Actually its interesting that u say vacuum line b/c my brake booster line seems loose and theres a bunch of fluid where the master cylinder meets the brake booster. hmm. but yea i looked over most of the lines and they are in pretty good/new condition. only thing i can think of now is if the alternator is bad or my fuel pump/regulator/dampener is bad. or fuel injectors

I checked the IAC, i pulled it off and the car died. soo i dont think its that, but it could be dirty.

Ok did you check the compression?? If not do it you may have a blown head gasket. If the compression is ok look for a vacuum leak. 2.3 turbo engines idle fairly smooth. Also check the timing with the spout out and set it at 10* BTDC. Also check your valve timing. I think you will find low compression on 2&3 just a guess. Post back with more info. Oh yes are the plug wires on the right plugs and timed properly. The firing order is 1-3-4-2 clockwise check it.

I did check for compression but the tool prob broke on me after the 2nd cylinder since it didnt read anything. i dont think its a blown head gasket. its more of a fuel problem imo. but yea the wires are correct and i dont think the timing is off. how do i check it anyway?

if that was bad you'd have a hard time keeping it going.... like you are now. have you checked the voltage on it to see if its in specs?
