Default Russell Braided Steel Fuel hoses

Hi,

Just finished a t-5 swap on a fox body with the 2.3l. Car had been sitting for a bit prior to starting it up, and now has a fuel leak where the hard line meets the rubber hose. I noticed that Russell makes stainless steel braided hoses for the 5.0l fox bodies, will they fit the 2.3 lines?

thanks,
Daniel

Are you talking about down by the frame rail on the driver's side where the steel lines poke out and the plastic line attaches?

I know Russell makes a fitting that adapts the spring lock fitting to AN and they list a fitting advertised as push lock OEM EFI fitting. I don't know for fact if they fit the Ford stuff.

If it's a prefabbed hose made for the 5.0, I wouldn't be as worried about the fittings themselves as I would be the length of the hose.

If you want to replace the hoses or lines, forced4 has them. Their website is down temporarily, but they sell them.

Ok here we go. Been there a hundred times. If its the return line that can be piped in with regular fuel hose and clamps. (no preasure on the return line to speak of) If its a preasure line you can get ford garter snap connectors at NAPA. They will allow you to go from snap to EFI flex hose. I use them all the time. I also have a flairing tool that makes all the weard ends on all ford and gm and chrysler tubing. I run hard line on the body flair to ford contour then use the napa fittings it works great in the shop for stock cars and such. On the HP jobs i use russels and the fittings that chandler and navy recommended

+1 regular fuel line on the return, and you can get high pressure hose for the feed side from the parts store too.

It's gotta be easier than replacing the factory plastic line. Heat the end up in hot water to get it soft enough to push the plastic connector into it. Pain in the butt.

I step back....I read that as a COOLANT line for some reason.

For fuel I use the Doorman kit that fabs OEM-type lines with Hairpin and Duckbill fittings. Got it on eBay BRAND NEW for $120.00 shipped. It has 25' of 5/16" and 25' of 1/4" nylon line and a boatload of different fittings for Ford/GM/Chrysler.

They are over $300.00 new elsewhere

thanks for all the replies, I tried mapping out the fuel lines in the shop manual but to no success. I believe it's the return line though. It's the rubber hose connected by hose clamps and not the one with the snap connector. I guess I'll just buy some generic fuel line pressure hose and cut to length.
