Default 1993 dual plug head worth keeping

my 93 has a dual plug head obviosly. now can i swap a d port head on my block or should i just keep it. im a little ignorant about the dual plug heads. also what are the mods i can do to it without tearing into the block.I know about cold air, exhaust, bigger injectors, and hotter thermostat, and 92octane, also are cam, cam gears, and followers the same on a dual plug heads as single.

1. Just keep it. You're nowhere near needing a head.
2. Hotter thermostat is a new one on me. I've always gone colder.
3. High octane fuel is a waste of your money in a stock, low compression engine. In some cases, you'll actually lose power as the fuel burns too cold.
4. Regarding the valvetrain, you're in a special class with the '93. You've should have the round tooth timing belt which uses different gears than the all of the previous square tooth belts. The single plug heads all used slider cams, yours is a roller (exact same cam as the Ranger that everyone is tripping over themselves for). So with that roller cam comes roller followers. To swap you have to swap cam and followers, and as far as factory stuff goes, any swap you make is a down grade.
