Question turbo kit for a n/a 2.3l

T3/T4 TURBO KIT FORD 97 98-02 RANGER 2.3L 2.5L CORRADO:eBay Motors (item 270407335580 end time Oct-09-09 22:31:41 PDT)

would this work in a n/a 89 2.3l? will any 4 bolt t3 turbo bolt up to mustang with a 4 bolt turbo header or are there different 4 bolt patters on t3's? if this kit will work please feel free to post opinions on qulity and experience if you have any with this kit or a similar kit, thanks,
ryan

its a universal kit for a ranger/corrado(saw one today...sexy)which means it universally doesnt fit anything without modding. it seems like a good buy to me you get alot of cool s and its like 65% of all the stuff you need. your still gonna need the turbo motor with all wiring harnesses included. get it wired. address fuel/timing/suspension/forged pistons/cooling and everything else i cant think of right now. in my unprofessional opinion i suppose its a good buy considering everything thats included. but what do i know. btw you cant just throw a turbo kit on your N/A mustang and go it doesnt work like that. (sorry for any bubble bursting that ensues)any questions? concerns? wtfs?

Its kind of a cheap price for a t3 hybrid. Its probably a china unit. Some guys have good luck with them. I personally never used a china unit. Your engine will not take more than app 5-6 lbs with a set of stock pistons(not forged). If you work around the cam and use some watter injection to cool things down you may de able to run like 7-8 lbs but thats about it. For 600 bucks it may be ok for an NA boost setup.

Your best bet is to buy an '87-'88 Thunderbird turbo coupe in running condition and take all the parts off of that. If you have room and the ability to part out a car that would be the cheapest and most efficient way to do it. I bought an '88 TC for $800, it ran great with a rebuilt engine in it, it was a running driving car in poor cosmetic condition. I kept the engine/trans/rear/ecu/suspension/brakes and then got over $800 back by selling the parts I didn't need. And I still have some more parts to sell so I will end up making money.

That's the way to do it.

haha thanks. yea itll take time. do lots of research on this and other forums as well as the all powerful internet. from what i can tell its pretty easy you just gotta have time and money and last but not least you just gotta buckle down and do it. but im sure its well worth the hard work anyone with an svo/tc/merkur or a 2.3tswap can tell you it is. and with your dads help you can do it no problem. gl
