Tom, I visit at least one other site that you do, and I've seen the crap you get just because your thinking goes against the grain of the established experts. Some folks are just set in their ways. I've always been a Ford guy at heart, with a dirty little fetish for Mopars (71-74 B-Bodies and 2.2 turbo cars). Most of my friends were Chevy guys so the bar and parking lot conversations got a little heated (fun though). But the thing about that was that no matter where our loyalty was, we were still friends and still helped each other turn wrenches or whatever needed to be done. We were car all car guys we just had our favorites. With the exception of a couple, everyone was open-minded and it didn't matter what you drove or what you liked. You were car guy, just like they were. That's how it was, that's how it should be. The internet has really helped with that, but by the same exponent that multiplied real car guys, those close-minded one track guys multiplied also. Just the way it is and I'll loan a grain of salt to anyone who needs one to deal with it.
Glad to have you here Tom. No offense to the anyone who posts here, but there's only a couple of guys who seriously know what they're doing. Kurt (NavySVO) is certainly one of them, and you're another.
Now about the Camaro...
At first when I read the cam specs, I balked at the 112 lobe centers. But when I read it was an LS motor in an F-body, it all made sense. the 112 degree lobe separation is very EFI friendly. The lobes on that cam must look outrageous to have that much lift and duration with the centerlines 112 degrees apart. Roller cams are beautiful. You'd never get that out of a flat tappet even if you used the old mushroom bottoms.
When you work on an LS motor, do you see what I mean about the engineers on that project being the second coming of the Ramchargers? Factory roller cams have been in production since the late 80's. Until the LS, no one ever designed a roller motor to be cam swap friendly. It's not in line with corporate mass production mentality. Car guys...each and every one of them.
