Are they different from the other sending units? Wouldn't any same-era Fox sending unit work?

I think So. I have really not done a number of SVO tanks to tell the truth. I think it should be a stock mustang sender. A quick call to the ford store should sort that out.

the sending units are year-specific to these Fox Mustangs. They are no longer being offered and are hard to locate. I have seen NOS ones go up on eBay from time to time.
The only difference is the wiper and the pinning of the connector. The resistance on the others is way off and it will make the gage read backwards.

The one he needs will read 77 ohms empty, 10 ohms full.
E3zf-9275-ca for the sending unit and E3ZZ-AA for just the wiper assembly. None are in presently are on a shelf at a dealer, and 50resto quit carrying them as well

Hi NAVY i was not shure about the sender?? Thanks for the up date. I have a couple of senders laying around. Thought i could get the guy out of a jam??? I will pull one off the shelf and check the resistance. According to hollanders the tanks are the same. I have not done enough SVO tanks to say what works. Is the mounting and pickup the same?? If so i mount late model chrysler resistance units on a couple of cars in the past and with some radio shack resistors i made a couple work. Thanks for the info. Also you can up date the tank unit as well. I have done it several times on early chevells to up date the tank when i swap GEN 3 motors in them. Thanks for the info. TOM

Tanks for Mustang FI are all the same up to 1998 (IIRC). Part store number is F12B.

Sender is a sender only. It does not house the pump like some newer cars. There is a different bracket and tank opening for that.
