Here what I fit in mine. One off e-bay. Similiar to this one but I did not use this one.

If look around and search using Mustang intercooler you will find it. Note shows intercooler lower than next video. This proper way.

Next video shows the engine area better. Like said make sure mounted lower like the first video or bumper will not fit. If I had it to do over I would have had more steel 90 and less rubber.

Of course if rotating the intake this would be a better one.

There was a posting on turboford.net that maybe of interest to you. Maurice

Thanks for the compliments. The part numbers for the rubber pieces are from Stinger site. The piping is 2 1/2" exhaust pipe. All the metal elbows are cut from mandrel u-bends. I just cut to fit and used green tape and tape together to fit. Then took to bodyshop buddy spot weld to hold together and then fit and finally weld together. Make sure to weld a bead on end of pipes to prevent blowoff. Being behind bumper would be a bummer if one blew off. My downpipe for my exhaust I made same way. Cut the 90 off the turbo and went to muffler with 3" and 2 1/2" over rearend. Wife's car after all so her photobucket.

A source for intercoolers beside e-bay. Pretty good reputation from turboford.net. I haven't used them myself.
Add a high quality front mount intercooler for top performance!

Read the turboford.net That is not the most effient because air will take the least resistance and bypass the top section. Just like mine it take the path of least resistance at the end. Since both of my pipes at one end. It has no choice. Now this one is more effient. Now if using that one you would have to rotate the upper intake to make the piping fit easier.
CXRacing Intercooler Mustang 88-93 Fox 94-95 SN body:eBay Motors (item 190332696837 end time Oct-02-09 17:55:55 PDT)
Now if like me not a high hp 2.3 would not make much difference.
Now some of the high hp ones are using npr diesel truck intercooler. Not sure if this is the one.
Isuzu Truck Parts NPR GMC Turbo Intercooler 99 - 04:eBay Motors (item 120472990425 end time Oct-23-09 12:49:26 PDT)
Now another option not thought of. If I had to start all over I would have done. Take a turbocoupe intercooler and change it to water cooled. There was a site can't find it now that converted them. Should be hard to do. Wrap with alumimum and add inlets. Then a small car radiator or ac condenser and pump. Less tubing. And no bypass or blowoff need. Less air charge. Something to think about. Hi 75 i like the idea of the welding bead on the end of the pipes. I have mine done by the midas guy up the street. He puts a roll of some sort on the ends. Looks kind of bogus . It resembles a brake line. I like your idea with the welding beads. I can weld fairly good and i can make those welds very neat. Sometimes i work through the night when the midas guy is closed and i cant finish a project. DUDE DOES THAT BAND CLAMP HOLD UP IN THE PHOTO JUST BELLOW THE WELDED ELBOW YOU MADE??? That weld bead is a great idea to say the least. THANKS FOR THE TIP. That is a real good idea TOM

Thanks Tom Renzo. No problem with blowing off. I was running 18psi. But had a motor failure. Determined to be detonation. I guess too many modification and still running stock computer and injectors. I have dropped it to 15 until I decide to do more or leave it alone. After all car is wife's daily driver. I will find out thicknes of core.

Make sure to pressure test system when done. Keep pressure below 10psi. Here is what I used.

Where I got idea.
IC Pipe Tester
Just don't go with this design. Flows in goes to end and flows back. Lot of backpressure.

HI 75 nice job and pre testing is a definate. I like that RX 7 cooler and the price is great. I once spun an upper and used the stock TC cooler in front of the radiator and believe it or not it made lots of ponies and nice cool air for the turbo. Made some custom mounts and presto poor mans front mount. I always like to save money on builds where guys are on a limited budget. I also like the tire stem and the plastic HOME DEPOT PIPE CAP. Another good idea and definately cheap to make. Real good job 75. Cheap and dirty and works.

The rx7 last picture is not a good one to use. Note air enters one end goes to the other 180 degrees and back and can then out lot of backpressure. Maurice

Thank-you for answering my question before I even asked man! I was hoping I could recycle my stock intercooler and use it as a front mount unit. What size piping did you use? Should I spin the upper like this(?): Rotated upper Manifold
