Default Removing crank pulley

How do you remove the crank pulley on a 2.3? I dont see any holes to thread in bolts to use a bolt puller?

It should just come off by hand. But sometimes it hard to come off. Here is how i do it. Get two long 5/16 bolts about 4-5 inches long. Then put them in a vice and tighten the head of the bolt in the jaws. Beat them over to a 90* angle and inatall then in the two holes in the damper from the center out. Then install a steering wheel puller on the threaded end with washers and nuts then tighten down the steering wheel puller. Presto the pulley will come off quite easily. Hope this helps TOM

I did it with a harmonic balancer puller. It worked for me.

But tom has a good idea. I just have one lying around from my mechanic days. Scary huh?

The damper puller does the same thing. But you will still need the bent over bolts. Thanks 93 that puller for 13 bucks is just the ticket. Good post
