Unhappy Keep getting oil in my air filter

So, for several years i knew the car had a small oil leak somewhere. i would find oil spray on the underside of the engine, but the car never consumed oil between changes and i do check the level regularly and often. the last couple months the car has been eating about a quart of oil between changes and aproximately every 1,500 miles my air filter gets so oil fouled that i gotta take the whole assembly off and clean and drain oil out of everything, air box, tubes, a little trail of oil was even inside the lip of the throttle body this time!
i've changed the pcv valve, tried some oil stop leak (it helped somewhat but the problem didnt dissapear), and i've been dilligent about regular maintainance to my car. aside from a complete engine teardown (which i'd have to have a mechanic do as i cant realistically do myself ) does anyone have any ideas/suggestions on where this oil is leaking from and how i can fix it?
i'm running a 2.3L non turbo 92 with the 8 plugs and all stock, i even still have the air silencer because
when i went to take it off is when i first noticed the oil in there. the oil has been biulding up behind the silencer (which seems to be helping keep it out of my filter) so i've been reluctant to take it off til after i get this prob fixed. and if it makes any difference, the portion of the air filter that is closest to the front bumper is always the part that gets drenched.
any help on this would be terriffic.

could it be the hose that connects the valve cover to the air filter assembly? the hose that gives fresh air to the pcv system? maybe somehow your crankcase is getting pressurized and is pushing oil out?

might be able to fix it with a quick install of a $20 oil catch can

got home from work n spent an hour outside with a light and my haynes (stupid geo is taking up my garage space at the moment). i did find the front/top crankcase vent hose and took it off and there did appear to be a bit of oil in it. we been getting crap weather here lately(overcast, drizzle, fun fun), so i couldnt find the rear crankcase hose. i will take a better look tomorrow, but any tips on locating the rear hose?
and if my prob is indeed too much pressure in the crankcase a: what could be causing it? b: how can i test for it? and c: how do i fix it?
i know this is a lotta questions, but i appreciate all the help everyones giving me

weather was good today, so i got to poking at my car. squeezed under the car and found oil all over the pan, but only below the seal, so i think i now have two seperate problems. (i am really not looking forward to replacing that seal.)
i couldnt get the rear crankcase hose off at the bottom, but the top part seemed free of oil. buuut i pulled off the pcv and found oil in its lower hose (the large, lower hose that goes up into the underside of the throttlebody.) the pcv seemed good, it rattled and i only have 6,000 miles on it.
any thoughts?
