But besides that theres not much you can do for a FMIC. If your looking to make around 300 hp and no more try making your own tubing and get a small intercooler. GL! |
I just checked stinger performance's site. they're essentially eBay turbo kits made to fit. nothing special, and the prices are ridiculous for chinese made sh*t.
You're better off piecing a kit yourself. Hit eBay and bid on a few fmic (preferably precision, greddy, etc). Sure they'll be expensive, and sometimes not, you'll get quality and you bang for the buck. Also bid on nissan skyline fmic's, starion fmic's, porsche fmic's, etc etc..
As for piping, either put a kit together, or bid on eBay

1) An air conditioning condenser can easily be used to run water through to cool the water in the intercooler. You can use the 3/8" (or whatever size lines they had) for the whole cooling system.
2) You can use another mustang radiator fluid reservoir as the reservoir and place it directly in the loop of fluid passage. So that way you can run a somple loop from the reservoir, to the condenser, to the intercooler and back into the reservoir with the electric pump going somwhere in the system (proabably between the reservoir and the condenser)
3) As far as a pump goes, I found out that a computer water cooling pump can be used as we don't need to pump a ton of water really fast, we just need a little bit of water. You can get them for $50 at any computer specialty store and they are all 12V! Most of them have a pump controller so that you can turn the pump up or down at will and fine tune the system to give you maximum cooling ability!
4) Put some ice in the reservoir and you're ready to race!
Tell me what you think about what I learned! And I am pretty sure that this setup will add at least 15% power! It will definately help anyone going for that 300hp LA3 limit!!! (like me!)
Oh and as far as positioning of the intercooler, you can leave it in the stock location without fear of overheating because the water will be surrounding the intercooler in the aluminum jacket.
