During the summer my oldest girl asked me to trade in her 99 explorer for CASH FOR CLUNKERS. I said heck NO i will trade in my S10 blazer instead . It was a 1993 2WD rot box with 200K on it. The frame was almost gone and the thing was a pile of junk. So we traded it for a 2009 malibu. The car had every option including ON STAR. Last week before signing on to this website i checked my E mail. I had an E mail from ON STAR. They informed me that the malibu had a low tire??????? So off to the shop i went with the car and checked the tires. They were all 30 LBS. Then i get another E mail stating the same thing. Car has a low tire??????? So being the dummy i am back to the shop again??? This time i checked the door post for tire inflation. It was 32-34 lbs????? So i filled the tires to 34 lbs and drove home. Once again i got an E mail from on star. This time they said the tires were OK. DUDES I am not kidding they knew yhe tires were LOW. I know the basic principal of onstar but this is NUTS. So i looked into it. They monitor the tire inflation with the ABS system and can tell if the tires are low. They reference a pre determined wheel speed verses MPH. When the tires get low they spin faster. This is nuts but the truth. Talk about BIG brother??? Man that was a shocker to little ole ME. All i can say is D'OE and WOW DUDE THATS NUTS FOR REAL. Wait till you get in a accident and onstar tells the insurance co. Your speed, how you operate the gas pedal brakes etc. And that you drive wreckless and your insurance goes up. Then try to change and new insurance co wants a report from onstar. It is coming. And don't you think that abs speed sensor can tell when you do a rolling stop or stop completely. I will stay with my old cars and keep big brother and insurance company out of my driving. Last I heard they are working on a system like airplanes that log in last few minutes or hours. You may say that will drive up cost of car. Not if the insurance co pays for it upfront in car. Just wait. Maurice

It might as well be called Obama motors for all anyone should care as the only reason that they are still in business is because of the government grants that they were given and they were probably finally approved by Obama somewhere along the line. But they should really change the name from General Motors to Government Motors. You're right, Obama does not have any control over what kind of junk that horrible company makes, but nor does a shareholder in the company or companies that they hold shares in.
Well guys I have to tell you the car is bad a$$. It has every option and gets like 30MPG. My daughter loves the car and it is a bargain for what i paid for it. I got $4500.00 for the blazer and the guy that owns the saturn dealer is a buddy of mine JOHN gave me another $2000.00 off the sticker. Out the door was $15000.00 Can't balk at that. I actually like the car for JEN she is a girl and loves new clean things. Well so far so good and she is happy. Now me is another story i like them rough and nasty. You know what i mean.
ford was also the only "smart" company to save up billions of dollars in money. that is also another reason the didnt go down like the other companies.
although when ford started to first save up the billions all the other companies thought it was a stupid idea... i mean come on who's gonna shut down multi-million dollar companies right.... WRONG!
so its a good thing ford did save up or they'd be in trouble just like the rest.
