I have 1990 2.3L lx and it bugs the hell out of me that the map light doesn't work. Mostly because I can't find it on any schematic. I checked the light bulb and it's fine. Anyway ideas or suggestions?

Yeah the switch in the map light is bad. I have a half dozen or so and all bad. First make sure power is to it. Next remove the maplight. You will find the switch under the arm. Small pin. Now look on backside. Notice 3 melted pins that hold back on. Now carefully remove the melted part. But leave as much of back and 3pins as possible. Now pop cover off. You will probably find the copper contacts have corroded. Clean and reassemble. Take solder gun or hot nail heated by lighter and remelt. Should fix. If not replace. But after it is junk anyway nothing venture nothing gained. Maurice
