The "dash panel illuminator" is a set of about 10 little lights that are simply attached to the back of the instrument panel. The colour of the lights is just a regular luminescent white colour, what changes the colour is the colour of the dash. The stock dash was green, so what you are gonna have to go do is swap out either the gauge backings or just swap the entire instrument panel out.

I don't see why having the dashboard lights being a different colour than stock is illegal, that sounds really lame!

I have been wondering how to brighten up my dash I can barely see it in the dark.

My dash is fairly bright ???? Is all the lamps functioning properly. Sometimes i bypass the resistor in the headlight switch to get full voltage to the lamps. This sometimes increases the illumination of the dash. I always eliminate the dimming feature on the headlight switch. Reason being sometimes people spin it all the way and the interior lights stay on and kill the battery. I know it sounds weard but over the years i have seen this happen more than once.
