I am in the process of winterizing my cars to put them away for the winter. You know STABLE and a full tank of gas. So i drove BETTY LOU to the gas station to top her off. I had it ideling while i was filling her UP. This young girl with a PRIUS (YUCKIE) said to me your car is not running right. It smells and its not ideling correctly. And polluting the air. Well i had to bite my tongue to keep from laughing and told her thanks for the tip. She advise me that she was taking an adult education course in mechanics. I politely told her i would get the car tuned up and have it checked out. She said you better it sounds horrible. DUDES she pulled out and her car had 5 political stickers on it. Man i was blown away with laughter and could not believe that. I wont say what the stickers said but they began with the letter (O). I dont want to offend anyone but it was nuts to say the least. Man i think every nut in the world finds me. Man she was sereyous as a heart ATTACK Peace TOM

Tom, what I can't figure out is why a girl of her obvious persuasion would be taking an Adult Ed. auto mechanics course. That's like you or me taking a class on metrosexual fashion.

I'd have loved to make up some BS story about how it's skipping cylinders at idle in an effort to reduce it's carbon footprint and then ask her if her high falutin' Prius does can do it. Or go the other way and tell her the idle will smooth out as soon as you dump another bottle of lead in the tank.

like the time this lady told my gf that her lights were on...she was like thank you...im in the car...i know! she was sitting in my running mustang while i was inside returning a red box dvd. when she told me i was like are you serious? lol.

Or the time when I was sitting at a red light and an old man pulled up beside me in his brand new buick and told me that my brake lights were out... LMAO, I applied the brakes to see that my 3rd brake light was working, and in a very sarcastic tone I said "thank-you so much!" I guess people have just gotten used to driving automatics. It's wierd, because if you go to Europe, no one has ever even heard of an automatic transmission, lmao.

She was actually very polite so i gave her a pass. Remember i am a local business person and cant get a bad rep. She was also real cute. I know i am a dirty old MAN. My wife says i am a nut magnet. Reminds me of the time when i was young and working on a driveability problem in an early chevy. The women told me to check the points . So i asked her why. She said they may need SHARPENING. Oh I don't know. I could always get a points ignition home if something went wrong. Now, if the ignition craps out (granted it's a lot less likely) you either start walking or sit until someone can bring you parts.

Back in the day, if I had a piece of sandpaper(even better a girlfriend's fingernail board), matchbook, and a wire that I could run straight to 12V. I was going home.

I can't disagree with that. I always had a spair set of points in the glove. Man chandler totally right on that one. Car conked out. Opened up the points and DROVE HOME. Totally TRUE WELL SAID. With the electronics its sit by a tree and have a Peace Tom
