Default can anybody tell me what this is please

this is inside my drivers side 1/4 panel on the front side near the seat belt, im gutting the car so i was just wondering if i really needed it,

I assume you have a airbag car. That looks like a airbag sensor. Reason I say this is the white connection. My 93 only has white connectors like that for airbag. Maurice

sorry about that, its a 1990, 2.3L auto, yes its an air bag car, and id love to take this out without destroying the steering wheel, does anybody know if the air bag will like blow up if i un hooked this thing.

Disconnect the battery and wait 30-45 minutes. That should kill the power to the air bag controller. Then you can disconnect the collision sensor.

thanks alot guys, im going to try that tommorrow
is there any other things that i can get out of the car, like the cruise control unit, i already have the hvac system out of the car,

yea trying to lighten it up, i already took both bumpers out and the brackets, converted to manual windows, side mirrors, and manual door locks, all the a/c and heater stuff in the dash and under the hood,no defroster on the hatch, soon to be a glass hatch with a lexan window, wanna do a glass 3 inch dzused hood, and wanna do a chromoly cage and front tubular suspinsion

Chandler is 1000% CORRECT. THE AIR BAG SYSTEM HAS A 30V holdover power supply. Be careful and let it discharge. I took a course on air bags and it got my attention rather fast. One other point when connecting or disconnecting the battery in an air bag car follow this RULE. ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE FIRST WHEN REMOVING A BATTERY. WHEN INSTALLING ALWAYS CONNECT NEGATIVE LAST. I saw a 1 hour training film on this and it blew my mind. As a matter of fact if you mess up on an air bag system thats exactly what could HAPPEN. Dudes be careful with air bags they are really DANGEROUS Peace TOM

thanks guys, ima deffently do that. does anybody know how to take the cruise control unit and all of the wiring out of it. i want to keep my horn tho

hey guys thanks for all the respones, i took all the wiring and airbag stuff out of the car today, but i found i blue box under my dash, right behind the a/c control panel. i was just wondering if i could possibly take this out to?
