Welcome from another MG Midget owner. Not sure what years the t-9 is in. Older 2.3 mustangs and Merkurs. Will do some searching and find out. Is a 2.3 going it the Midget? Again Welcome and need pictures. Sound like nice project. If can help just ask. Been into the MG Midget for over 25 years. Got lot of knowledge and parts. Maurice
well I foung this site quad4rods.com and was going to put one of the ford motors in my mg midget. But need a T9 to fit the trans tunnel. The T5 is too big without cutting the tunnel all up.
I know that site. The t9 comes stock behind some 2.3. But that site also has bellhousing to fit the later 2.3 DOHC motor. Note others not the same engine as the lima 2.3. Here is a craiglist/e-bay search engine using your zipcode. Maybe able to find one there. Maurice
I just picked up a T9 out of an 86 merkur. The chances are best if you look for merkurs. The two transmissions are of very similiar length, but the T9 has the shifter a little farther back. Also, the input shaft is a V tooth design rather than the square tooth on the T5.
