what type of tranny for 5.0 swap ?

i am currently looking at a buying a 5.0L from a '88 lincoln Mark VII. It comes with the tranny . i was wondering if this tranmission would work for the swap from 2.3l to 5.0l ? if not then what is the specific type that i would need ?

You can use the AOD tranny that comes with the Lincoln engine, no problem.

ok thanks, and as for the engine , it is a 5.0 HO , from the '88 lincoln , is it the same as the mustang engines from '87 - '93 ??
