First off... If with the kit you bought a battery box with it... mount it where you want it to be in the trunk.

Myself... I have done a battery relocation without a kit... I leave the solenoid in its place and run a 4GA Batt 12V+ Lead from the battery to the solenoid... making sure that the line is Fused near the battery with a large fuse, and that you use a hefty grommet at the firewall to run the cable through... re-attatch the cable to the solenoid... then make sure you run a solid ground from the battery to the body and double-check ALL of your grounds under the hood are solid.

Motor to Body... Body to Battery... These grounds have to be solid as now the current has to travel further.

I dont have pics... so I hope this helps you... If I had pics I would post them... Good Luck Dude

why do you want to move your battery? it just makes for a small inconvience when having to be jumped.

Now as you may ask WHY would you want to move the battery... ( I plan to to this to my XR4 in the next few weeks).

First off... makes it easier to work under the hood... if you have a cut off switch inline with the battery 12V+ Lead... you can shut it down when ever you know you will be working under the hood...

Second off... Weight Distribution... Even tho it is only 10-20 LBS of weight... it does affect the transfer of weight within the vehicle... to move it equals out the weight distribution just that much more.

Third off... Hell... I think it is safer to boost a car from the rear... you ever boost a 1981 Corvette... Damn booster cables gotta go thru the door into the back of the car... with it in the trunk / hatch... pop the trunk / hatch, pull the good car behind the dead car (if your car is the one that needs a boost, LOL) hook up booster cables... this keeps you from having to have an overly long set of jumper cables or turn a car around to face yours on a busy freeway... Safer as well as if your battery is so dead... the guy jumping you (parked behind you...) can turn on his emergency flashers... hence the ability to warn other drivers your car is broken down.

Hell I wonder why they didnt put the battery there in the first place... LMAO

you can do that without moving the battery. plus theres nothing near the battery to work on to have a reason to remove it.

Battery relocation has been done with a lot of cars... race worthy or not... for years.

I am not gonna argue my point on it... It makes for a cleaner engine bay and for me it is way safer in my eyes... as well as it does transfer weight to the rear... People don't just do it for fun.

You are kidding right? This is basic wiring 101. That's like saying "how do I drive a car, I work at the drivers education school" Please tell me you are just having a brain fart.

Now that I am done harping on a audio installation technision at a major big box store. You need to install a high amp circut breaker within 3 feet of the batt in the truck, also I would switch to an Optima batt at this time and get a box to put it in. I would also to be safe also use another circut breaker up under the hood. Run the wire in some kind of conduit, with gromets anywhere is passes through metal. This is all car audio 101.

I agree easier from back but, actually he could at a place to hook jumper cable to at this time. Then he could just run his POS wire up to it and connect his stock batt wire to the same point. Then could jump front or back. I did this to my Mustang coupe when I was tring to compete in car audio(never ending pocketbooks are hard to contend with).

I used 0awg when I did it but I had 4 batts in the truck.
