Uhhh.. which way do I turn this?

I hate to say and I realize I sound like and idiot but I cant remember which way you turn the distriibutor to advance the timing? I dont have a timing light so I cant look and see what way the timing mark moves when I adjust the timing so which way is advance? Clockwise or counter clockwise?

On my '88 2.3 (and, I suspect, other years that had a distributor instead of a coil pack), it is counterclockwise.
