I Have An Intermittent Problem When I Start My 1984 Svo. Sometimes The Motor Just Doesn't Seem Smooth,almost Like The Timing Is Retarded. If I Cycle The Key Three Times Off And On It Runs Smooth. Could This Be A Distributer Problem Or A Fuel Problem??

i would check the fuel pressure first.........i hooked up a gauge with a piece of fuel hose and an old schrader type valve from a bicycle pump.......the fuel pump may be getting weak and not priming up enough pressure the first key on... and when turning the key on and off three times... it finally builds up enough pressure.....is it the original fuel pump ?

whoops........sorry about that but i just realized you have an 84 and its probably not fuel injected but if it is.... definately check your fuel pressure...if its carbed maybe its time to relace the fuel filter...
