hi i have an 1988 lx 2.3 stang i bought 4 $250.I've put a starterand relay on it,and it didnt have an ignition key so i drilled out the ignition, but went 2 far so i need the igniton lock gear.The fuel pump was wired direct so i replaced the relay and now its working fine.It has rubber lines connected behind the exauhst going forward on the tranny lines ,they look like there melted 2 the exauhst.but arent leaking.it was low on trans fluid so i checked the filter it barely had fluid and was milky looking like the trans fluid was mixed (atf & dexron?).i put new plugs & fuel filter on it.it still sounds rough the exaust is broke behind the catalatic converter.i put the trans pan back on.and added 5 qts. its reading high now so i need two redrain a little fluid but it still isnt shifting all two well i drained 90% of the old gas out i think it sat two yrs,and put new in. now im getting ready to let it run awhile see if it sounds any better.i called napa & autozone neither carry trans lines or sterring colloum lock gears.ill try ford or a junk yard next week.this is were i sit so far and will post updates & questions. as i go along i do have pics posted and eventaully will pull this motot & trans 2 try 4 a 302 or 351 later but i want it running cause gas prices w/ my truck.thanx 2 all that can help along my way feel free 2 post suggestions & comments along the way. thanx,250projectstang.
