Will a T5 from an 86 GT be a direct replacement for the four speed in a 79 1/2 turbo four Pace Car? Need to replace clutch, want to upgrade trans at same time. Thanks

trans will work but not sure of driveshaft length diff. and i think ford changed flywheel balance in like '80 or 81? (i put a t-5 behind a '78 302 and used a 89 flywheel but cost me $85 to have the flywheel re balanced) weight removed. (late model flywheel is like 50 oz) maybe this helped, maybe not, lol
