Default SVO Lower Control Arm/Ball Joint

1984-86 Mustang SVO Owners encountering the worn-out ball joint in their lower control arms have in the past only two options to select from to correct the problem. The first is to replace the lower control arm with a slightly better used unit since this part is no longer carried by Ford or After-Market suspension part suppliers. The second option required extensive labor and radical change in the handling of this car. The use of SN95 Cobra Front Suspension Parts. There is a new option that will allow the SVO Owner to keep the original control arm in his vehicle.
Mustang SVO Owners Association Pacific Southwestern Region has been able to work with JC Performance in Grover Beach, CA to develop a procedure to replace the ball joint in the lower control arm with either a Spicer or Moog Ball Joint that is greaseable.
There is one company in So CA building Tubular Lower Control Arms with replaceable ball joints at a cost exceeding $300.00 per side. That amounts to over $700 w/tax to replace the lower control arm & ball joint assembly. JC Performance is charging approximately $129.00 plus shipping and handling for modifying both control arms and replacing the joint with a greaseable unit. SVO Owners only need to send their control arms in to JC Performance. Since shipping cost vary per local a call must be made to JC Performance to determine the actual cost of the repair to the lower control arm. For more info and picture go to www.jcperformance.com

I'd rather go with the tubular arms from D & D that Caroth has set-up on Turboford.

I dont think i trust the above method too much

Gator:
I understand your doubts but check the price vs D&D plus using the original arm of your vehicle. I tested this arm before making it available to my fellow SVO Owners. The joint is in until you press it out. As a Master Journeyman Tech on Ford Performance vehicles with over 30 yrs experience plus Joe Leonard's experience in motorsport I do not believe a total of over 60yrs experience by us that we put into this project over the past year will lead to a total disaster.
Thanks for your opinion and doubts it will serve as a reminder that there are a few people we must prove this to like the Wright Brothers building a machine to fly.

Hey , dont get me wrong, I'm happier than hell that someone decided to finally do something about the situation, and i will no doubt spread the word for ya....at least people now have options.

But how long will this take ...?
