Default Overheating prob help

Alright guys, i've got a 92 lx hatch and i recently replaced the motor with a new remaned one and now it likes to heat up on me and i cant figure out why. i tried first to replace the thermostat and that didnt do crap. i've checked the water pump and its alright. It usually runs normal for bout 15 minutes of driving and then if i get in any type of traffic at all the temp guage goes through the roof and wont come back down. some of my guages are wack so i was wondering if it might be that my guage is wack or if it is really overheating on me. any help would be great thanx guys

Could be the gauge, are there any symptoms of overheating besides the guage?
Water bubbling inside the reservoir-overfill tank?
Take the cap off the radiator, run it, let it heat up..see if coolant is flowing.
Was the tstat installed in the right direction?

I Figured Out What It Was. It Was The Damn Fan. The Wires Were Shorting Out And So It Was Half Working. But Ya I Installed The Tstat In The Right Direction I Now Got It Running Right And All I Got To Do Now Is Replace The O2 Sensor And Then Im Gonna Sell It. So If Anyone Wants A 92 Hatch With A Four Cylinder And An Auto With A Brand New Motor Then I Know Someone Who Will Make A Good Deal On One!!! Haha Anywho I Preciate You Guys Help
