Default need help getting car back on the road

alright i have an 89lx2.3 mtx mustang that had been sitting in a backyard for 2 years

we got it to start fine nowbut we have some problems

the motor (the entire thing) shakes really hard in the engine bay at idle or low rpms, friend said need new motor mounts
the engine has either 124xxx miles on it or 224xxx but cant tell cuz it only gives me 5 digits and the car was only $100 im assuming the worst but when we start the car at hold it at about 2 or more rpms the motor sounds fine but after a min we get some smoke....kinda white but grey.....
also there is a recall for something with the iginition causing overheating....take it to ford when we get running well enough

anyone have any suggestions with hellpping to get the car running decent again things to try and what to check, would appricate thx

Sounds like the typical neglected engine that never got started. I would run some seafoam in the crankcase and gas tank to clean up any gunk that has accumulated. Run that for a tank or so of gas and then change the oil again and the fuel filter and see how she does after that.

Sounds like a vaccum leak to me. I had a 83 ranger with a 2.3L where at idle the entire moter shook and i thought it needed new moter mounts also but i found a loose vaccum hose and pluggled it and it stopped shaking and ran fine after that.
